Norwich Community Members Saying Poems They Love
Inspired by the national Favorite Poem Project, created by Robert Pinskey, the 39th Poet Laureate of the United States, students in Composition & Literature II film various members of the Norwich community discussing and reciting their favorite poem. All explain something of themselves and their interests as well as their first encounter with a poem that matters and has had influence.
The videos are developed by first studying drama and the ways that playwrights and, ultimately, producers convey point- of- view through production. Students then create storyboards, constructing plot by crafting their subject into individual frames as well as integrating a script. By completion the Norwich University Favorite Poem Project harkens back to Pinskey’s, “celebrating, documenting, and encouraging poetry’s role in American’s lives.”
