Introduction to Earth Evolution

This course introduces students to the 4,600 million (or 4.6 billion) year history of the evolution of earth and life – all in 15 weeks!

Students examine the Champlain Thrust. This classic fault exposure wonderfully displays mountain building activity in Vermont from over 440 million years ago when rock (dolomite) over their heads was pushed westard, up and over the shale at their feet.
